Pro Photo Supply Whether you've seen Gritchelle Fallesgon's Instagram account for her bright colorful studio photography or her profile for outdoor adventure photography, these two seemingly different bodies of work hold more in common than just the photographer who made them. Gritchelle is a Portland-based commercial and lifestyle photographer with a background in graphic design and a focus on inclusivity.

We are thrilled to be sharing the work of VoidTokyo, a Tokyo street photography collective. VoidTokyo is a collective of eleven Japanese street photographers whose goal is to document the changes that the country's capital is experiencing.
Services
We are a local brick and mortar camera store, photo lab, and rental house in Portland, Oregon. We build community through still and motion photography, not only in Portland but also across the country. We assist our community in the pursuit of the art, the craft, the profession, and the joy of still and motion photography.
We stock a broad selection of 107 wide, 36' long rolls at our retail location and it's easiest to pick these up at the store. At your request we can cut 12 off of a roll and this will reduce the shipping fees considerably. We offer a smaller selection of precut 86 wide, 36' long rolls that can be shipped much more cost effectively.
Weather protection for your camera gear is an essential part of any photographer's bag. Some of the best photographic opportunities occur in less than ideal weather conditions. So if you've spent both time and money finding that perfect location, you should make sure that you and your gear are properly covered. Don't miss the opportunity to catch that perfect shot.
Online Standard Photographic print orders take 24 hours to process, except Sundays when we are closed. Orders made over the counter can vary depending on how busy we are and what the order involves. Typical turnaround time is 1-4 days, although some orders can take as long as a week or two if it needs to be sent out to another lab.

Shout out to the manager Travis. Received a call from him after receiving a mixed feeling experience I had with one of the sales people. It turned out to be a misunderstanding on my part, (I misinterpeted the conversation) and Travis was quick to set things right. This kind of care toward the customer is exactly what my wife and I have come to expect from past interactions and why we have continued to purchase our equipment from PPS. Thank you again Travis for your help and I will be back in for my next purchase tomorrow!

Online order shipped fast and was bubble wrapped as if it was their own item. Greatly appreciated.

In over 40 years of doing personal and professional photography I seen huge changes in the way people chronicle their lives through photography. Many things have come and gone in those years, you never see a Fotomat in a parking lot anymore. Try to find 35mm film in a big box store anymore. Long waits for film processing. Old film sizes have gone extinct, goodbye 135, 120, 110 and 126 camera film.

Throughout all the changes since 1983 there has been Pro Photo Supply to help guide us. Knowledgeable staff in both the sales and photo processing ends of the business. Conveniently located near downtown Portland. Quick service and reasonable prices. The hallmark of any good business that has been around as long as they have. Recently, I project of mine required me to revisit my 35mm archives and get hundreds of photos reprinted, some switched to digital, and some blown up. Pro Photo Supply helped me through all of that, made some great suggestions to save money, and even arranged some things I did not to more properly catalog them. And, they did it all without breaking the bank!

In an era were all our precious memories need to be digitized because even photo paper can degrade over time, it is good to know there are some people that remember how to work with the old ways and bring them into the new. And new photo equipment? The very latest and greatest in digital cameras, every accessory you can think of and I am willing to bet, more than you can imagine. Pro Photo Supply is quite simply, my "photographic Disneyland".

I had called and talked to Kevin. They did not have the item I was looking for, but he suggested I come in as they had a large selection of similar products. Kevin grabbed a camera and lens comparable to the one I have so we could fit it into a case. They actually have a table with the measurements allowed for travel, very helpful! I ended up purchasing two bags! Kevin's customer service was stellar! I will be shopping here more from now on!

Policy changed recently and apparently now you need to authorize a deposit for the entire value of the gear you're renting. One B1 kit was $6,300. Go to Gearhead or Coolhand. Cheaper and less expensive.

Topic of repair: I've waited over a month (and still am waiting) for a repair (LCD screen). I've decided to go with their partner repair Camera Solutions based locally in Portland. The person helping me was not able to communicate what was going on with the repair. We've been emailing back and forth, more of myself asking for updates met with their response lack of understanding of their own process and inability to communicate.

Long story short, I followed up with Camera Solutions myself to get a better understanding of their process and updates since the person at Photo Supply was incapable delivering a message that could have avoided a constant ask for updates. I would highly recommend you do not go to Photo Supply for repairs unless you want to wait an undetermined time with no updates. Note: They do have an okay selection of latest models. Good products at a slightly higher cost.

Called to get some information and the woman who answered was unbelievably rude to me. Wish I never gave them my money. Walgreens seems like a better option after this experience. will not be returning.

This is the go to place for your photography needs in the Portland area. The customer service is excellent and they carry much of what the digital and analogue photographer might need. Don't wait to have something shipped all the way from a mega store in NY or elsewhere, if you can swing by ProPhoto Supply get the same item. You'll be supporting local people and businesses and that, is a double win.

I ordered a camera online and if you need to check on the order I recommend just email them because the people when you call don't see to have a way to confirm the order. I got a fast response just email after I called.

Great inventory, expert advice. Best camera store in PDX! You can try their equipment on site. Friendly and extremely competent,

Purchased Aputure MC light online, pickup process was smooth but when I got home I noticed I had been given an open box. The seals had been cut and the cables rewrapped. I paid full retail price and was expecting to get a new unopened, unused product. UPDATE: Tommy and Angel contacted me ASAP to remedy the situation, thank you! I've changed my rating to reflect the great customer service.

I absolutely LOVE this place. Lots of expert here to help you. Great for any beginner sinking their teeth into photography. Unlike other chain stores and Amazon, this place is a fantastic resource for the professional when they need something, they can see, touch, that won't break after the first use! The selection is constantly updating to the latest gear, and even through the pandemic, you can STILL hold a camera and take a few test shots. Again, I love this place and I hope it's here to stay for years to come!

I've been a regular customer for close to two decades now, I've always been treated great, counter staff and management will take the time to help me find what I want or need. I love the staff at the store and at the rental department, and their pro desk is there to help anytime. I refer all my friends & clients to them, support local small businesses, they price match the big online places, so price is never an issue, and we're so lucky to have local stores to go into, put our hands on the product, test it, even rent it for a few days before we purchase.

Omg Dan C is amazing! He is the most amazing and helpful person I have ever met. It inspired me to write this review. Not only did he help me find the right camera lense, he helped me find something I needed at a different store that they were out of because I was only in town for 1 day!

Over the years I bought plenty of gear from Pro Photo, especially lenses. What impressed me the first times in the store was how sales staff did their best to help me. They even steered me away from some purchases because certain products would not benefit my photography needs. I find a wealth of knowledge and assistance every time I go. Its one of my favorite places to shop.

Live around the corner & love how my film turned out from Pro Photo. Super nice sales staff & didn't treat me like the dummy I am with film (thank y'all!). Going to be a regular stop for all film needs here on out :-)

Oops. I dropped my Canon 60D DSLR onto a concrete floor. Nooooo! I need not have worried. ProPhoto got it repaired and it's now back good as new. Lately I've needed some accessories. Instead of buying them on line, I now rely on ProPhoto. Knowledgeable staff, plus I know exactly what I'm buying. Skip Amazon and come in here.

I usually order all of my photography and printing supplies through another large photography store in New York City. I now live in Portland so I decided to try out Pro Photo Supply, and I couldn't be happier. The entire staff is kind, professional, passionate, and most importantly supportive of their community. I recently purchased a professional Epson inkjet printer, which I was going to order through the other store and have shipped to me. Pro Photo Supply was so friendly and easy to work with.

They had the printer in stock, for which I was able to pay with ease and security through a direct link online, and was personally delivered to me the next day. Chris brought the 50 lb. machine up the stairs to my studio without hesitation and it is already up and running. I would still be waiting anxiously for it to arrive on my porch. Instead, I was able to get what I needed easily, at the same price, and faster than having it shipped! Thank you!

Pro Photo Supply is my go-to store for all of my key purchases. Their staff is made up of practicing photographers who'll share their honest opinions about equipment -- and its suitability to the task. And it is great being able to try the equipment In the store before buying. When I'm buying a lens, I bring my camera and an empty memory card into the store, take some images, then bring the images back home to think about it before deciding to buy. Their product demo-days (I wish they had more) are really helpful, too! I'm really glad they are part of our local community -- and I enjoy supporting them.

Seriously, what business that's in the business of selling things doesn't answer their phone when called more than four times over the course of an hour. Also, which business doesn't have an easy interface to check availability or inventory of products? It's 2019, guys. I remember having gone in here years before because I left a card reader at home and some guy trying to school me about said card readers. Sure, okay, while you're attempting to be condescending to customers you're also probably bitter that you never made it as a photographer? Ya' know. as most people who end up "behind the counter of a camera shop." It's too bad the PNW really doesn't have the level of pro-shop that LA and NYC have.

I don't have time to not get a call back from your voicemail system when all I need is a simple expendable (e.g., film) to shoot for a client up here. If your inventory isn't online and you don't return phone calls, is the only customer base/audience rich old guys who kiss your *sses? If you're a working pro, instead of going here just go to B&H: SO MUCH SIMPLER. And, yes, my film will be here tomorrow morning. Thanks so much for the returned phone call. :)

Short Answer: Extremely poor customer service. Employees (in particular an older gentleman working with the used gear) talked to me with a condescending tone acting like I knew nothing because of my young age. I would highly recommend shopping elsewhere. Continue on for more in depth review. Long Answer: have not had a good experience while at Pro Photo Supply.

As much as I'd love to support a local store, I'm not going to be visiting or purchasing products from them again. Every time I've visited, the employees have been very rude and do not seem to have any interest in helping. I'm 17 years old and extremely serious about photography. I've been working with a professional for the past 7 months and have been selling prints and working with clients for the past year.

However whenever I go here, the employees assume because of my young age that I don't know what I'm talking about. They talk to me like I'm a little kid, and make me feel like whatever I say in incorrect and they have a better answer. No customer should be treated that way and I do not want to support a business like this. I recently visited Pro Photo Supply to pick up a gift card which had been sent to the store as a high school graduation present.

When I gave them my last name and asked for the card, they laughed at me and said they didn't know what I was talking about. I explained the situation multiple times, and they didn't seem to believe me. They said they needed to "see" the physical card saying that it was sent there, or in other words saying that they didn't believe me. Am I too young to be trusted?

I cannot talk about everyone when I say this, I'm sure there are some great employees that work here, but the people I've worked with, an older gentleman in particular have been very rude and used a condescending tone when "helping" me. I will not be going back here, and instead will stick to online ordering. I've given it multiple visits over the past year and have never had a good experience.

I would strongly advise you to go elsewhere when shopping. P.S. Don't ever attempt to trade in gear here, they offered me $65 for an excellent condition (with box) Rokinon 20mm 1.8 lens which I purchased for $550.

Giving this place one star because Galvin one of the employees was very nice and helped me out. Beyond that, do not rent from them. They gave me a damaged camera that Galvin helped replace for a wedding I was shooting. When I went to download all the images, no cords were included so I had to purchase my own card reader- they also rented one out to me.

They even mentioned cords should have been included. I was unable to return the SD Card and card reader on time (my fault of course- but I gladly accepted the charge for the extra days. Upon returning, I was chastised by Dave for not returning their phone calls- when only one message had been left with me to make me aware of the extra day charge. He then argued with me and accused me of breaking the original camera rented to me (I have used this camera before many times and know how to use it and did not break it). He was very passive aggressive and rude. Please think twice before renting as you might get attitude from employees.

Very poor costumer service. I'm usually very unassuming about people's comments and I usually don't leave comments on yelp. This experience has been very traumatizing for me as a novice photographer. I came to this store thinking that I could buy equipment from them and get a few tips about assembly. The sales associate interrupted me after my 2nd question and told me to go read the manual.

He said "we are trying to make money here and they can't spend time talking" That is very unacceptable. I ended up returning my item and won't return to this store. P.s. I did report this to other associates and they were apologetic about this incidence. However after reading the other comments, this doesn't seem like the first time this has happened.

Shout out to Eric. First time visiting Portland and my friend recommend Pro photo supply. I was planning to buy a mirrorless camera was debating between Canon and the Sony. I ended up purchase the Canon EOS R, Eric was super patient and knowledgeable to explain the differences between each camera. And the best part I can demo different cameras (EOS R, Sony A7R iii, Sony A7iii) with my own lens. I've been to other camera store before coming to Pro photo supply Eric is the only person who can answer all my questions on the EOS R.

The best part is I don't feel like he was rushing me to make my decision right away. Since this is my first time to Portland Eric was nice enough to recommend me different places to visit! Would definitely come back when I'm in town.

I've updated this review because Pro Photo has obviously made some significant and visible changes to the way they do business in recent months. The past few times I have been there the staff has been very knowledgeable and very helpful. Of course they have always had a huge in-store inventory so the chances of walking out the door with what you want have always been good.

This is a major differentiator between Pro Photo and the several online businesses that I often buy from. Since they have demo gear for me to look at and play with I don't feel right about buying something I saw at Pro Photo online so I have been increasing the amount of business I do at Pro Photo over the past couple of years. I don't know if this is a factor but I am a high end amateur photographer and generally purchase professional or close to professional grade gear so perhaps the pros get better treatment? Pro Photo's prices are pretty competitive and their warranty policies are similar to what you get from the online sellers. Biggest complaint about this place is that they are in the Pearl where parking can be difficult. If they continue treating me as a valued customer I will continue buying from them.

Went to Pro Photo Supply my first time about 5 months ago. I was new to photography and didn't know much. I went to buy a specific lens that their website said they had, I called, and got confirmation of them having. When I went there, the lens was apparently never in their system. The guy sold me on another lens, to find out he lied about a few things on it. So, I went back in for them to make it right, even if I end up paying a fee to restock it, and they denied everything, and all the lies.

I went back in a few months later, after taking a few classes and better preparing my self, to find out that the staff here is just very uneducated. Anyhow, I gave them a few chances, even a chance to make it good with me, and they fail again and again. I would not shop here as a pro, or as a beginner. They don't know what they are talking about, and they are very overpriced. Order online from B&H.

This is an updated review because my last experience wasn't the best. I went to Pro Photo today to check out some tripods. Haven't been impressed with the customer service in the past. But today was something special. They were pretty crowded for it being early in the morning but the customer service was excellent. I spoke with Erik who actually asked me if I needed anything and he was pretty busy there's a lot of people trying to get his attention.

I bought a tripod set up and I love it with wheels as a special attachment. I want to thank Erik for doing such a great job in helping me out with this. I was also asking him about Wacom Cintiq pads and he told me they had an office just down the road. I went down there and messed around with one and loved it and ordered one. Thank you Erik for your help, I really appreciate it.

I will keep it simple. If you want something go in, right away. Especially if they say they have it. We have called 3 times, twice asking for the item to be held after learning the first time, and the wanted item (a camera body and 2 lenses) have been sold or "already put on hold" by some else only minutes before us. ****I do want to note when items are sold, they call and have always offered to call back when they get in a replacement.

If you don't want or "need" your item right away, the item right away this may work for you. The shop is cool and staff nice and will help when needed. As mentioned in other reviews, they are busy a lot and you do have to assert yourself to get help or in line for help. They often will have what you need, but really need to work on their system for holds and for helping customers in order.
